3rd September
G’day folks,
Just back from tropical Castlemaine and the glorious environs of Lot 19, AND the news is very good dear friends.
Mark Anstey, my friend and co-founder of the Castlemaine Acoustic Music Festival has been driving around the state buying (highly roadworthy) caravans and driving them back to the block (coincidentally in the middle of the night) to build what is arguably the cutest artists' quarters in the southern hemisphere, all this in preparation for our third event on lot 19 in late March of next year.
The next one is an afternoon and night of some of the finest acoustic music in the country in a truly unique environment. Lot 19 looks out across the car wreckers to the tip, Mark Anstey describes the property as “ugsalvat”. Coz it's kinda like Monsalvat crossed with Mad Max (1 and perhaps 2 but definitely not 3. Whilst we would accept an application to play from Tina Turner, we'd prefer one from Dolly Parton) so if you have commercial festival fatigue, hang out for music at Lot 19... and watch this space.
... you can take breaks though.
Look’in forward to the band at the Gem tonight, finishing the song Clare Bowditch recorded at my joint last week. Coz she has a lot to teach cucumbers about cool) AND more sunny days.
Bye for now.
